Wiring & Electrical 101: A Three-Part Hands-On Lighting Workshop
This three-part series is designed to make lighting approachable through hands-on learning with real fixtures and components. Participants will build practical wiring skills while gaining a better understanding of how light is made, shaped, and controlled. This event is a 'donate what you can' event. All donations will support Equity in Lighting programs.
September 22 | Level 1: How to Make Light (Sponsored by RBW)
Learn the basic electrical components of a light fixture and wire a decorative fixture from the ground up.
September 29 | Level 2: How to Shape Light (Downlight)
Learn the function of key fixture components and wire a downlight while exploring how light distribution is shaped.
October 6 | Level 3: How to Control Light (Sponsored by QTL)
Learn how to wire linear tape lighting and a dimmer switch while gaining an introduction to drivers, dimming, and lighting controls.
Designed for all experience levels, this series offers a fun, low-pressure opportunity to get hands-on with lighting and build confidence working with the systems behind the fixtures we specify every day. All materials provided.
